Why schools are adding this now

Textbooks and training images have under-represented darker skin, so many graduates were never taught to recognize or treat it. Washington's updated beauty-school standards now call for instruction that applies to all hair and skin types, and schools in other states are asking the same questions.

Foundations of Melanin Rich Skin gives your program a complete, ready-to-use module for the skin side of that requirement, built by a licensed esthetics educator who redesigned an entire curriculum around melanin-rich skin.

Please confirm with your regulator. Requirements and how they are met vary by state and by school. We provide the education and the completion records. Your school decides how the module fits your curriculum and whether it counts toward program hours.

How curriculum licensing works

One simple license gives your school the right to use the curriculum with your enrolled students.

1

License to curriculum

Tell us about your school, programs and student numbers. We follow up with licensing terms.

2

Sign the agreement

Your school receives the right to use the curriculum with its students under a written agreement.

3

Students log in

Every student gets their own login. Nobody shares an account, so every record belongs to one learner.

4

You get the records

Time in course, quiz scores and completion are recorded per student and provided to your school.

What students complete

A self-paced online course, laid out chapter by chapter like a student portal. Students can stop and come back any time.

Own login

Each student creates their own account. Progress saves to the student, not the device.

Time is tracked

Active time in the course is logged, so you can see the 4 to 6 hours of work a student actually put in.

3 quizzes, 80% to pass

Students must pass all three quizzes. Retakes are allowed, and the best score is recorded.

4–6 hours, self-paced

Ten chapters, including a full deep dive on PIH, with knowledge checks, practice prompts and sources. Students move at their own speed.

Certificate

When all chapters and all three quizzes are complete, the student receives a certificate of completion.

Clear scope

Every chapter reinforces scope of practice and when to refer to a dermatologist.
